Airship 27 Productions is thrilled to announce the release of a new science-fiction action adventure novel by Wayne Carey; “EL’ARIS.”
After the planet El’aris was first discovered, human colonists enslaved the alien Tz-en. Then they mined the world’s natural resources for themselves. Eventually the Tz-en organized a rebellion with the help of paid intergalactic mercenaries, among which were Tony Michaels and Jon Perry. With the financial backing of the powerful star-spanning Deltan Technologies, they were victorious.
Ten years later, Michaels is summoned back to El’aris. Now it is the Tz-zen who rule with an iron fist subjugating the human Elarans. A desert tribe known as the Skir’ka has begun terrorist attacks on the major trade centers and Deltan Tech wants him to find and kill their leader. His name is Jon Perry.
“Wayne Carey’s new book is like a trip back in time,” says Airship 27 Production’s Managing Editor Ron Fortier. “It recalls the late 60s and early 70s when Ace and Daw paperbacks dominated the spinner racks. Month after month some of the finest science-fiction books were offered by such luminaries as Andre Norton, E.C. Tubb, A.E. Van Vogt, Frederick Pohl, Arthur C. Clark, Isaac Asimov and so-so many more.”
Fortier recalls his teen years devouring those action adventure space operas. “Carey has captured the enthusiasm and magic of those galactic settings with fascinating aliens and truly memorable new worlds.” Artist James Lyle provides the black and white interior illustrations and Ted Hammond the cover with Art Director Rob Davis assembling the package. “This is the first in a new series,” Fortier concludes, “and we can promise our readers one hell of a fun sci-fi ride.”

AIRSHIP 27 PRODUTION PRESENTS BROTHER BONES – TALES OF CAPE NOIRE
Airship 27 Production is thrilled to announce the release of “Brother Bones – Tales of Cape Noire” fifth in the bestselling series by writer/editor Ron Fortier. Only this time Fortier has brought a few friends along to play in his pulp sandbox.
Cape Noire is a bustling, commercial seaport on the northwest coast. It is also an urban jungle where over a million souls reside. Among these are monsters both human and supernatural. Keeping them in check is the skull masked Brother Bones, the Undead Avenger. In this new collection of tales, writers Fred Adams Jr., Andy Fix and Drew Meyer join creator Ron Fortier in presenting the next chapter in Hell’s own backyard.
“The idea for this book came about a few years ago,” Fortier reports. “Several colleagues mentioned the fact that after four books, comics and a RPG game module, many of the supporting characters I’d created showed tons of potential for their own adventures. Realizing that might work, I reached out to my three amigos and asked if each would like to take on one of these figures in a new story. This book is the result of their overwhelmingly happy replies.”
Dr. Bugosi, the Mad Scientist of Cape Noire is dead and Harry Beest, the gorilla mobster, is assailed on all fronts as he tries to salvage the dead man’s journals. Meanwhile the sexy vampire, Sister Blood encounters a creature descended of island magic while trying to save a friend. At the same time Lt. Dan Rains hunts a kidnapped girl amidst a bloody gang war that threatens to flood in streets in blood.
Here is a mash-up of action, adventure and horror as only the saga of Brother Bones can provide. “Tales of Cape Noire” is a quartet of fevered nightmares you will not soon forget. Pulp Factory Award winning Art Director Rob Davis provides the interior illustrations and artist Michael Stribling provided the stunning cover.

[Link] Authors Ask That Their Work Be Removed From Flashing Swords #6
by Rich Johnston
Flashing Swords! was a series of fantasy anthologies published by Dell Books from 1973 to 1981 under the editorship of Lin Carter. It showcased the heroic fantasy work of the members of the Swordsmen and Sorcerers' Guild of America and included Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser stories by Fritz Leiber, Dying Earth stories by Jack Vance, the first two parts of the novel The Merman's Children by Poul Anderson, two Amalric the Mangod stories by Lin Carter, the first part of the novel The Incorporated Knight by L. Sprague de Camp, two Elric of Melniboné stories by Michael Moorcock and many more.
Recently Robert M. Price, Carter's literary executor, sought to revive the series with Lin Carter's Flashing Swords #6, to be published next month.
Again with a number of fantasy tales of the old school from some familiar names – including Cliff Biggers, long-standing comic store owner as Dr No's and publisher of Comic Shop News. But he was also a founding member of the amateur press alliance (APA) Myriad, the Atlanta Science Fiction Club for which he wrote and edited their publication Atarantes, and was active in the Southern Fandom Press Alliance, Galaxy, CAPA-Alpha, Apa-5, and other amateur press alliances.
But on the upcoming publication of Flashing Swords #6, the foreword by Robert M Price, as partially seen in an Amazon.com preview, has caused considerable concern by a number of the included authors. Here is one example page from the Amazon 'Look Inside' that is amongst that which has caused concern.

[Link] A Timeline of Recent Allegations in the Comic Book Industry
Editor's Note: This is too important not to repost.
Believe.
=============================================
By Christopher Chiu-Tabet
Since June 15, 2020, when artist/writer Cameron Stewart was widely accused of abusing his clout to prey on aspiring teenage comic book creators, the industry has continued to be rocked by allegations of other prominent figures sexually harassing, assaulting, or coercing their colleagues. Other creators have also begun to speak out about general sexism in the industry.
This list of recent allegations will continue to be updated.
– June 16, 2020: multiple women accuse writer Warren Ellis of similarly preying on them like Stewart, alleging he used his influence to make them feel they owed him sexual relationships. Ellis responded with a statement on June 18, acknowledging he had made “mistakes,” and announced the end of his newsletter. DC subsequently replaced a story he wrote for “Dark Nights: Death Metal – Legends of the Dark Knights” with one by writer Marguerite Bennett and artist Jamal Igle.
Artist Patrick Zircher defended Stewart and Ellis, prompting criticism from other creators like Christopher Sebela as well as fans and critics. Zircher subsequently made his Twitter account private, but Nick Hanover explained Zircher often made “weird ‘look at this couple from classic Hollywood who had an age gap relationship’ tweets.”
– June 19, 2020: former Dark Horse editor Brendan Wright was accused by freelance editor Bekah Caden of stalking and harassing her “for over a year.” Starburns Industries Press, where Wright worked as VP and Executive Editor, cut ties with him, as did other publishers and projects he was involved with.

AIRSHIP 27 PRODUCTIONS PROUDLY PRESENTS THE ROAD TWICE TRAVELED
Airship 27 Productions, one of the leaders in New Pulp fiction is extremely happy to announce the release of writer R.A. Jones’ latest novel, “The Road Twice Traveled.”
“This is truly unlike anything we’ve ever done,” claims Airship 27 Productions’ Managing Editor Ron Fortier. “This is a truly remarkable story with a fantasy element remindful of tales that were told on the old Rod Serling’s Twilight Zone television series.”
James Francis sits on a bar stool the night of his 65th birthday reflecting on his sad life. He grew up hating his father, married the wrong girl and was soon divorced. He never had any children or close friends and now he’s alone facing his twilight years. Bitter memories are his sole companions. Or so he believes until he is approached by a funny little man who suggest that he might be able to go back and re-live his life….a second time. Only with one major difference. This time he would make the right decisions. If that were at all possible, would he accept the offer?
And thus begins R.A. Jones’ wonderful tale of a man miraculously given a second chance at life. It is a poignant story that reveals the significance of every choice we make along the journey. Each having endless cause and effect to shape the person we will ultimately become. As for James Francis, his do-over is one filled with love, heartache and forgiveness no reader will ever forget.
“Having the privilege and honor to publish this amazing book is one of the reasons we started Airship 27,” Fortier continues. “It was our hope to not only offer our readers classic action adventure stories ala the classic pulps, but to also find new and original works that would elevate the idea concept of populace fare. In ‘The Road Twice Traveled’, R.A. Jones has created something truly beautiful and it was our pleasure to bring to the rest of the world. Pulp Factory Award winning Art Director Rob Davis provided soft pencil interior illustrations and designed the cover.
Available now in paperback at Amazon and soon on Kindle.
