A good pulp action story gets in our
heads and changes us for the better,
either by encouraging and inspiring
the good or by showing us how
choosing the bad can lead down a
bitter and tragic path with awful
consequences. Thinking about it that
way almost makes it sound like a
religious experience, and to some
degree (at least for me anyway),
all good fiction is.
