AIRSHIP 27 PRODUCTON PRESENTS QUATERMANIN AND CHALLENGER’S 13.5 BILLION-YEAR DETOUR

Adventure 27 Production is thrilled to release a truly unique pulp adventure written by Thomas Kent Miller.  Several years ago Kent wrote “Allan Quatermain and the Star of Wonder,” wherein H. Rider Haggard’s hero encountered evidence of alien incursions on our planet, specifically the African coast of Sierra Leone. This story takes place in 1873 and though Quatermain survives to tell the tale, it’s ending is not complete.

Then, Kent changes course and offers up “Challenger and the Ancient Nova in Aquila,” which transpires 42 years after the Quatermain tale. In this adventure, Conan Doyle’s eccentric Prof. George Challenger discovers, in the South American state of Ecuador a similar ruins whose origins and purposes he can only guess at. Both facilities, though separated by an ocean, are identical in construction.

Now, we’ve reprinted both back to back as Kent always intended in this new Kindle-only edition. It contains the original interior illustrations by Clayton Hinkle and a new cover by Rob Davis.  Originally released on Kindle, it is now available in paperback as well.

AIRSHIP 27 PRODUCTION PROUDLY PRESENTS THE CHALLENGER CHRONICLES

George Edward Challenger is a fictional character in a series of fantasy and science fiction stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Unlike Doyle’s intellectual super detective, Sherlock Holmes, Professor Challenger is an aggressive and hot-tempered, dominating figure. The fearless scientist was accompanied on his perilous missions by reporter Edward “Ned” Malone who narrated the adventures.

“After the tremendous success of our Holmes series, it was only natural that we’d one day take on Prof. Challenger,” reports Airship 27 Production’s Managing Editor Ron Fortier. “When Gordon Dymowski approached us about that very concept, I suggested he go ahead and write the bible for such a series. He did so with panache and just like that three of his writing colleagues signed on. We are extremely excited about this first volume.”

Now Airship 27 Production is thrilled to debut brand new adventures of this classic pulp character as written by today’s finest New Pulp scribes. In this premier volume, writers Gordon Dymowski, Barbara Doran, Michael Panush and Samantha Lienhart sent the daring Challenger to strange and exotic locales always in the search of new wonders and thrills. Artist Clayton Hinkle provides both the interior illustrations and the dramatic color cover.

Airship 27 Productions Presents QUATERMAIN: THE NEW ADVENTURES—THE LIGHTNING BIRD

Airship 27 Productions is thrilled to announce the fourth book in their series, “Quatermain : The New Adventures. Writer Wayne Carey offers up his second full length novel in the series with, “The Lightning Bird.”

When the president of the First National Bank of Durban dies mysteriously, consumed by flames, a beautiful Zulu woman named Izula approaches hunter-guide Allan Quatermain with a fantastic tale. She believes the cause of the man’s death, and those of others is the legendary Impundulu, better known as the Lightning Bird.

Quatermain reluctantly agrees to help her and with the aid of his friend, Sean Finnegan, they launch an expedition eastward to the Grootslang Kloof located in the Soutpansberg Mountains. It is here, the mysterious forest of Thathe, surrounding Lake Fundudzi, that Izula hopes to find the malevolent witch doctor she believes is controlling the Impundulu.

The trail leads them a hidden city now ruled by a sadistic Portuguese trader. To free the enslaved populace and defeat him, Quatermain and his companions will have to confront an evil as old as time itself. Here is H. Rider Haggards’ most famous pulp hero in a brand new, action packed novel that will have pulp fans cheering.

“Wayne Carey’s work is true to the spirit of Haggard’s character in every way,” says Airship 27 Productions’ Managing Editor, Ron Fortier. Carey’s first Quatermain novel, “The Beast Men,” was released earlier this year to critical success. “Even the good people of the Rider Haggard Society applauded Carey’s ability to portray the hero authentically,” adds Fortier. For “The Lightning Bird” artist Clayton Hinkle once again provides the interior illustrations while Graham Hill returns to do the cover. “As long as we have such a talented team in place, our readers can expect to see many new Quatermain African adventures.”

THE JUNGLE LORD RETURNS!

Airship 27 Productions happily announce the release of its 19th title of the year, JUNGLE TALES Vol II featuring Ki-Gor Jungle Lord.

The deep in the heart of the Congo is a jungle wilderness filled with exotic beauty and danger.  This is the world of Ki-Gor the Jungle Lord, his beautiful mate, Helene and their allies; Tempu George the transplanted American turned Massai warrior and K’Geeso, the daring pygmy chieftain.  Here are three brand new adventures featuring these beloved characters from one of pulpdom’s most popular series.

Writer John Rose offers up a trilogy of original tales; a long novella and two shorts.  In these Ki-Gor and his friends discover a hidden world, battle Nazi agents and run afoul of greedy treasure hunters.  This is classic pulp jungle action reliving the days when Africa was still a vast, uncharted continent and only the bravest of the brave dared to venture within its lost and hidden realms.

“If any pulp jungle hero ever came close to mirroring the success of Edgar Rice Burrough’s Tarzan, it had to be Ki-Gor,” says Airship 27 Productions’ Managing Editor, Ron Fortier.  “His stories were some of the best written of the time and are still fondly remembered and collected by pulp fans today.  It is a real joy for us to be able to continue his exploits in this series of all new stories.”

The cover, which spotlights Ki-Gor and Helene, is by Andy Fish with Clayton Hinkle providing twelve black and white interior illustrations.  All wrapped together by Airship 27 Productions’ Art Director, Rob Davis.
