ADVENTURE FICTION AT ITS PRIMAL ROOTS- PRO SE PRODUCTIONS OPENS SUBMISSIONS CALL FOR ‘MAN AGAINST NATURE’ ANTHOLOGY!
A well known and classic trope of adventure stories is the tale of a person or people taking on a foe they cannot argue with, one they can sometimes not see, and definitely one they cannot knock out with a punch or kill with a bullet- Nature. Pro Se Productions opens a submission call for an anthology featuring tales of mankind facing off against natural forces in MAN AGAINST NATURE.
Stories for MAN AGAINST NATURE must be set anywhere in the world in any time period through the present day. and the lead character must have a masked identity. The lead can be male or female, but must wear a mask as a hero of some sort. Although all stories will be considered, a preference will be given to stories that do not rely on extranormal or supernatural tropes, but more on the basic concept of a man or woman hiding his or her identity to right wrongs.
Stories for MAN AGAINST NATURE must be 10,000 words in length. A proposal of 100-500 words must be submitted to submissions@prose-press.com. Authors not previously published by Pro Se Productions must submit a writing sample of at least two pages with their proposals. Authors whose proposals are accepted must submit the first four pages of their accepted stories as quickly as possible for review by Pro Se staff. Final deadline for completed stories is 90 days following acceptance of proposals. Payment will be in royalties and addressed upon story acceptance.
MAN AGAINST NATURE is a part of the Pro Se Anthology Project, THE PRO SE OPEN, and is scheduled to be published in the 2016-2018 calendar years, depending on submissions and other factors.Email submissions@prose-press.com if you have any questions concerning this collection.
