Airship 27 Production Proudly Presents MARK JUSTICE’S – THE DEAD SHERIFF Vol 5: A COLD AND LONESOME GRAVE

For Immediate Release

Airship 27 Production is thrilled to announce the release of the fifth entry in their Dead Sheriff series created by the late Mark Justice.

When Indian half-breed Sam, journalist Richard O’Malley and their charge, the Dead Sheriff, encounter a group of Irish free-fighters in the Canadian Rockies, it sets them on their strangest adventure yet. The Fenians are led by Lizzie Callahan, O’Malley’s first love from Boston. Nicknamed the Banshee, she and her group are set to ambush a British expedition out of Vancouver that is looking to capture the fabled Bigfoot. The Brits, led by one Lady Throne, believe the creature is the missing link in human evolution. The Banshee plans on disrupting those plans and taking the Sasquatch for themselves and ransom it for money to help fund their activities.

Against Sam’s protestations, O’Malley commits them to partner with the rebels unaware that there is another of the Demonic Master’s agents inhabiting that frozen wilderness. This one exists in the shape of a supernatural cannibal known as the Wendigo. Aware of their destination, the Master directs the Wendigo to find and destroy them.

“This continues to be one of most enjoyable series,” says Airship 27 Production Managing Editor Ron Fortier. “In creating the zombie lawman, our dear friend Mark Justice created one of the most bizarre weird Western characters ever envisioned. It is our great joy to keep the series going. And the adventures only get wilder.”

Writer Phillip Pan pulls out all the stops in delivering another gripping tale of horror and suspense in this, the sixth chapter in the saga of the West’s weirdest hero, the Dead Sheriff.  While Pulp Factory Award-winning artist Rob Davis provides the interior illustrations and Michael Youngblood the cover.

THE DEAD SHERIFF RIDES AGAIN

Airship 27 Productions is thrilled to announce the release of the fourth book in the weird western series created by the late Mark Justice, “Purity” by writer Michael Housel.

Since acquiring the magic amulet, the half-breed Sam used it to re-animate a murdered lawman thus creating the Dead Sheriff. At the same time, to maintain the fabrication of a zombie avenger, he adopted the role of Cheveyo, the Dead Sheriff’s loyal Indian companion. Together they roam the west hunting outlaws and supernatural monsters accompanied by Richard O’Malley, a Boston journalist looking to chronicle their adventures in dime novels.

Whereas the amulet was once the property of a New Orleans mystic known as the Master and he wants it back. To that end the Master recruits a sadistic arsonist named Perdifious who believes himself Satan’s own Hellspawn and has gathered together an army of savage, sadistic killers. They wreak havoc and destruction wherever they go and their next destination is a Quaker settlement named Purity. Learning of this, Sam, the Dead Sheriff and O’Malley plan to confront them there and save a town full of non-violent pioneers.

“It does my heart good to see this book released,” reports Airship 27 Production Managing Editor Ron Fortier. “It continues our promise to Korma Kay Justice that we would do everything in our power to keep her husband’s legacy alive.” Kentucky based writer and radio host, Mark Justice, passed away suddenly several years ago after completing the first Dead Sheriff novel, “Zombie Damnation.” Airship 27 published the book posthumously. Then Fortier completed the second, unfinished manuscript for book two, “Cannibals and Bloodsuckers.” Last year the company published the third installment, “Holster Full of Death” by writer Fred Adams Jr.

“The characters are great and the potential for future books endless,” Fortier declares. Airship 27 Production’s Art Director Rob Davis provided the interior illustrations for “Purity” and the cover was rendered by Michael Youngblood, another Airship 27 creator.

THE DEAD SHERIFF RIDES AGAIN

Airship 27 Productions is thrilled to present “Mark Justice’s The Dead Sheriff – Cannibals & Bloodsuckers.”

Before his death in February 2016, radio personality turned pulp writer, Mark Justice wrote “The Dead Sheriff,” a weird western that merged his love of both horror fiction and cowboy movies. Last year Airship 27 Productions proudly produced a new edition of that one and only book. Later, it was learned that Mark had actually begun a second book featuring the creepy lawman and his Indian companion, Sam. After reading the partial manuscript, fellow pulp scribe Ron Fortier volunteered to complete the tale with Mark’s widow, Norma Kay Justice, giving her approval.

“It’s always intimidating to pick up a story from another writer,” Fortier confesses. “At first I’d thought I would find someone else to take the job and I’d merely edit. Instead, while reading through Mark’s original section, it became all to clear to me that we shared the same kind of quirky black humor. In the end, I knew it would be up to me to finish this over-the-top adventure. Now I leave it to Mark’s fans to say if I got it right.”

Starting only months after the conclusion of their first adventure, Sam and journalist, Richard O’Malley, along with the Dead Sheriff, find themselves battling twisted cannibal brothers, a traveling bordello of vampire prostitutes and a demon from hell. Can even the Dead Sheriff survive this Trio of Terror?  Returning to the series were artists Zachary Brunner (cover) and Art Cooper (interior illustrations) with Art Director Rob Davis on book design. This new book also features a special post-script by Mrs. Norma Kay Justice.

So get ready to saddle up for some truly wild and hair raising adventure, pulp fans, as the Dead Sheriff rides again!
