GoFundMe for Peter David (PAD)

Folks, Peter David was the first comics pro to remember me at a con and address me by name when I was working with Shooting Star Comics. He's a talented creator and needs your help. Thanks to Todd Nauck for reminding me to donate for this.

Hi, everyone. I'm fundraising for author Peter David and his family. He's had some compounded health problems, and the bills are piling up! On top of kidney failure, and the steep medical bills incurred from that, he just had another series of strokes AND a mild heart attack.

As we wish him a swift recovery, and send our love and support to his wife Kathleen and his family, let's also pitch in and help with their medical bills and living expenses.

Please give what you can to relieve some of the immense stress that this family is going through right now.

On behalf of Peter, Kathleen, and the whole family, thank you!

Give my friend John hope for the holidays!

I have a friend with Crohn's who is just trying to stay alive while the rest of us are enjoying the holidays. If you follow John online only by reading his comments on my page, you'd never see it because he's such a joker. But underneath those jokes, he needs our love and help. Crohn's care is near and dear to me, as my mom also has it. Luckily, my mom has my dad and my family and good insurance to help her. My friend John doesn't have that network or safety net.

If it helps you support John, every dollar I make from this ebook during the rest of December and January will be donated to his care fund. Get it for yourself. Give it as a gift. But most of all, help my friend stay alive.

Buy the book:

Or you can skip the book and donate directly:

Please help him out if you can.

Thanks and Happy Holidays!

ANNOUNCING : LEGENDS OF NEW PULP FICTION (A benefit anthology for Tommy Hancock)

Airship 27 Productions is extremely happy to announce their newest project will be a very special New Pulp Fiction anthology to benefit New Pulp publisher/editor/writer Tommy Hancock. Tommy was recently hospitalized and diagnosed with having congestive heart failure. In a recent to letter to friends and colleagues, Tommy elaborated on his condition and the challenges ahead on his road to recovery.

Within hours, writer Jaime Ramos approached Ron Fortier, Managing Editor of Airship 27 Productions about the possibilities of producing a one-of-a-kind New Pulp anthology that would benefit Tommy and his family and help defray some of the medical bills they will be accruing in the weeks and months ahead. Fortier was immediately receptive and the two will share co-editing credits on the project.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS TO BOTH WRITERS AND ARTISTS.

If you are a published New Pulp writer or artists and would like to contribute to this benefit anthology, you are asked to contact Fortier and request the book’s guidelines and set deadline for both story and artwork. Note, this being an Airship 27 Production, it will feature interior illustrations for each and every story featured in the anthology. Also important, this is a call for new stories, not reprints. Once the book is assembled, it will be available at Amazon in both hard copy and on Kindle. All profits from the sale of the book will go directly to Tommy and his family.

This is an opportunity for the entire New Pulp community to come together as a family that truly cares for one another. Again, interested creators should contact Fortier at Airship27@comcast.net to sign on and request the official guidelines.

The Writer Will Take Your Questions Now (#78) -- Charities

What charities do you endorse?

I know the en vogue answer for comic book writers is the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund (CBLDF) and The Hero Initiative, and I do support those and encourage you to do so as well, but I have a few others that are particularly near and dear to my heart. These are a few of my favorite groups/charities, and I think they're worth a few minutes of your time, and perhaps a few dollars as well. Thanks.
