OPEN SUBMISSIONS CALL FOR ‘PURGATORY'-A KIMBERLY RICHARDSON’S PULP GOTHIC ANTHOLOGY

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

INSANITY OR SOMETHING MORE? FAR AWAY FROM HEAVEN OR STEPS CLOSER TO HELL- OPEN SUBMISSIONS CALL FOR ‘PURGATORY'-A KIMBERLY RICHARDSON’S PULP GOTHIC ANTHOLOGY

Known for her unique work in various genres, author Kimberly Richardson invites other authors into a corner of her imagination with an open submission call for PURGATORY, an anthology to be a part of KIMBERLY RICHARDSON’S PULP GOTHIC author imprint with Pro Se Productions.

Dr. Wellington Stanford IV is the new head doctor assigned to Purgatory, a mental institution located in a small town in England named Wytchewood during the late Victorian/Early Edwardian era. The Doctor arrives to Purgatory and notices that all is not what it seems: patients are dressed in clothing from all periods of time (Ancient, Medieval, even futuristic) and they tell him that they were not meant to be at the facility. Also, the town area appears to be in a perpetual state of Summer turning to Autumn. The leaves that fall to the ground one day are found to be on the trees the next day. None of the patients ever have visitors.

There are nine nurses and they keep to themselves when they are not taking care of the patients. They range in age and size, yet they all share one thing in common - they all have brilliant blue eyes. When one of them looks at someone, that person feels something tugging deep within them. One patient ranted that the nurses were witches who met outside in the night to plan their activities. Dr. Stanford believes none of it, since he is a man of reason and science. However, the Doctor does hear the sound of a flute every night.

The patients suddenly appear at the entrance with no baggage, yet they have a look of terror and wonder when the doors to Purgatory suddenly appear before them. The patients are male and female, with some children as well, though it’s the children that look the most haunted.

Are You ready to enter Purgatory?

Writers wanting to make proposals should request the anthology bible by email to submissions@prose-press.com. FROM PESTILENCE RISES GOTHIC SUPER HEROES-‘THE ORDER OF THE BLACK SILK’ DEBUTS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Noted author Kimberly Richardson weaves her unique dark magic as a writer with the first volume in a trilogy introducing what may truly be a new subgenre-Gothic Super heroes.  THE ORDER OF THE BLACK SILK is available now in print and digital format.

“What Kimberly has done,” says Tommy Hancock, Editor in Chief of Pro Se Productions, “is basically come up with one of the most wholly original concepts I’ve seen in a long time.  And, it’s just possible she’s at least a pioneer, if not the inventor of Gothic Super Hero Pulp.  Her five central characters are definitely Gothic in nature, and unlike others who might be listed as such, like Batman or The Shadow, The Brothers of the Order have their roots in so many aspects of what is considered Gothic in all sorts of ways.  This is the best work Kimberly Richardson has ever done and Pro Se is proud to have this series.”

Once Pestilence walked the Earth with impunity…and Her five monstrous generals led Her charge, spreading sickness and devastation before Her. Then She created the Black Plague, and no longer could these men turned powerful abominations stand their Mistress’ actions. They betrayed Her, with assistance from Her brother, Death, and She was imprisoned, but not before cursing Her five minions. No longer did they cause destruction. Their eternal damnation was now to heal.

The five became known as The Order of the Black Silk and found their way to the Other Side of the Veil, the world existing within and outside our own at the same time. There, they established the city of Cinis and creatures of all sorts came to be wondrously healed by the hellish beings. And many stayed, settled in Cinis, and found peace in the shadow of The Brothers.

But now, something depraved has come to Cinis. Things once living and robust, now nearly dead and emaciated, all with the same foreboding warning-That She is coming and with Her comes Salvation. The Order of the Black Silk is now faced with uncovering what evil has been visited on their city and dealing with the one fear all of them have harbored forever…the possible return of Pestilence.

THE ORDER OF THE BLACK SILK is the first in a trilogy of digest novels from author Kimberly Richardson, exploring how darkness can be made light and even in the brightest moment, darkness can fall like a death shroud. With artwork by Rick Johnson, this volume will take You places You never dreamed existed, or may have found only in your nightmares.

With a fantastic cover and stunning interiors by Rick Johnson and logo design and print formatting by Marzia Marina and Antoino Lo Iacono, THE ORDER OF THE BLACK SILK is available now at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/Order-Black-Silk-Kimberly-Richardson/dp/1544267037/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1489245748&sr=8-3&keywords=Order+of+the+Black+Silk and Pro Se’s own store at www.prose-press.com for 10.00.

This first book in a new trilogy is also available as an Ebook, designed and formatted by Marina and Lo Iacono for only $2.99 for the Kindle at https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XJPPW5J/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1489245748&sr=8-1&keywords=Order+of+the+Black+Silk and for most digital formats via Smashwords at https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/710247.

Authors Destroy Bradbury -- Well, Not Exactly, But See For Yourself

Join Tommy Hancock, Allan Gilbreath, Michelle Brundage Weston, Kimberly Richardson, Charis Taylor, and I (among others) as we embellish and otherwise make a fantastic, classic radio program based on the works of Ray Bradbury something we should all be properly ashamed of. (Click the link to view because there are several parts.)

"Each person was given a script they had never seen before [other than Hancock and myself, who organized this nonsense] and assigned a part. The script was from a 1950’s radio show called Zero Hour, and it was modeled after some of Ray Bradbury’s short stories. Just a warning: it’s at a convention after dark, and words don’t have the same meanings now as they did in the 50’s. (This would probably be rated PG or PG-13 for some adult content.)

"Unfortunately for those involved, someone had a video camera…"

Imaginarium -- The Birth of a Truly Literary Focused Convention

The Imaginarium Convention I attended this past weekend is unlike any other convention I've been a guest for. Why? Because this one was all about writers and their creative works. Rather than short-sheeting the folks who create the stories readers love, Imaginarium chose instead to honor them and put them on display.

Were there some obstacles to overcome? Of course. Any con will have them. Particularly any first-year con. But with plans in place to stomp them into dust, Imaginarium is one of the cons I'm most looking forward to hitting again as a guest -- as often as the awesome folks there will have me.

What rocked?

For starters, the staff. Stephen Zimmer, Susan Roddey, and their team of evil minions made me feel right at home from the get-go. They seem to have a knack for anticipating issues and already be working on them before someone like me could even approach them to let them know the issue existed.

Also, the guest list was like a family reunion for me. It's often been said that you have two families -- the family you're born with and the family you choose to surround yourself with. This family is the one that I've made my own and has welcomed me into the madness we all share.

So, thank you to all who made it awesome from the bottom of my heart. My “booth babes” (daughter Charis Taylor and friend Ellie Raine) and I had a great time, from hanging with friends new and old to shaking out booties on the Masquerade Dance Floor.

Can't wait for next year!

And now for the photos...

The lovely Charis Taylor, working the table.

My neighbor and new friend, author Heather Adkins.

The beautiful and very patient Spider Queen herself, Jen Mulvihill.

My doomed dance partner, Selah Janel.

Tommy Hancock, Grand Guru of Pro Se Productions.

One of the finest writers I'm privileged to know, L. Andrew Cooper.

The best legs in Florida, M.B. "Embe" Weston.

Embe in action, selling books.

Charis Taylor, holding down the fort and making all the money.

The books.

The books and the comics.

Charis' books and comics. She's also a published writer.

Dinner in the dark. I'm surprised the waitress could put up with us.

Michelle looks far better in Tommy's hat than he does.

Ellie Raine, Kimberly Richardson, and Charis Taylor
wait for food. And wait, and wait, and wait...

The cast and crew of Kimberly Richardson's sure to be award-winning film short
The Attack of the Killer Beignets, coming soon to a computer near you.
