IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE!

Airship 27 Productions is thrilled to present the latest thriller from veteran genre author, Michael Vance, “SLLITS.”

In 1947, just outside of Corona, New Mexico, on a hot July day, a flying saucer crash lands in the desert.  The government immediately sends in the military and has the alien craft and its crew transported to an airbase in Roswell. Four of the five alien voyagers are dead, the fifth, a huge, gelatinous creature, becomes the sole focus of their investigation.

Leading in the study is C.I.A. officer Celeste Gains. By accident, she creates both a mental and physical bond with the alien who refers to itself as Sslits. For the next fifty years, it will be the entire purpose of her existence. Her mission is twofold. First to keep you him out of the public eye and second, prevent unscrupulous government agencies from exploiting Slits amazing abilities. Among these is nullifying the aging process for her. At ninety, Celeste doesn’t look older than her mid-thirties.

When a second Slits arrives on Earth, its sole purpose, to locate and destroy the first, Celeste is faced with her greatest challenge yet. Veteran writer Michael Vance offers up both a fresh and frightening look at a “first encounter” unlike anything ever imagined.

“Whether writing about old haunted New England hamlets or monsters from outer space,” says Airship 27 Productions’ Managing Editor Ron Fortier, “Michael Vance has a way of adding a unique creepiness to his fiction that stays with you long after you’ve finished reading. He’s a talented writer of the macabre and “Sllits” is no exception.”

Joining Vance is artist Gary Kato who provides the book's interior illustrations and Art Director Rob Davis completes the package with an eerie cover by Canadian Ted Hammond thus offering up another classic Airship 27 pulp thriller.

THE SNAKE STRIKES!

Airship 27 Productions is proud to present the latest pulp thriller by Oklahoma based, award winning writer, Michael Vance: SNAKE : NEST OF VIPERS!

In the last few years of World War II, a group of brave Germans who opposed Hitler and his Third Reich orchestrated an underground movement that worked from within to defeat the Nazis.  These brave men and women were constantly at risk being hunted by the ruthless Gestapo.  Their fate, if captured, was agonizing torture and death.  Still they struggled on.

Six years later, in the back alleys of New York’s Bowery district, a mysterious masked avenger calling herself the Snake appears.  She recruits denizens of the street to be her agents and begins a ruthless campaign against organized crime.  Who is she and what is her connection to the events in Berlin prior to the collapse of the Third Reich?

“Michael Vance is one of the finest genre writers working today,” says Airship 27 Productions Managing Editor, Ron Fortier.  “His Weird Horror Tales trilogy received critical acclaim and last year we published his YOUNG NEMO & THE BLACK KNIGHTS, a novelization of his own comicbook series.  This time he has uncovered a lost comic book nugget and what he has done with it is going to excite a whole lot of people.”

Based on a six-page synopsis by legendary comics writer, Richard Hughes, author Michael Vance has woven a thrilling, fast paced adventure that will keep readers guessing and on the edge of their seats from start to finish.  You've never met a character like the Snake.  She’s sexy.  She maybe crazy.  But she is most of all, deadly!

SNAKE : NEST OF VIPERS features a stunning cover by comicbook and pin-up star, Ted Hammond with interior illustrations by newcomer Greg Keyzer with book design by Rob Davis.

AIRSHIP 27 PRODUCTIONS’ 100th TITLE! -- YOUNG NEMO AND THE BLACK KNIGHTS

Airship 27 Productions presents a new novel by award winning writer/editor, Michael Vance that explores the origins of one of literatures greatest fictional characters; Captain Nemo.

In 1870, French science fiction author Jules Verne published “Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea,” and introduced to the world to Captain Nemo, commander of the world’s first submarine, the Nautilus.  But what of Nemo’s origin?

He was an Indian whose title and name at birth were Prince Rajesh Dakkar, son of the Rajah, or King, of the then independent territory of Bundelkund.  His father hired a teacher whose own reputation for wisdom would spread across the nation. His name was Indra Singh, and his principal purpose was to mentor Rajesh and to secure the best tutors and materials for the instruction of his student.

But book learning within the confines of palace walls was not enough for the young prince.  He longed for adventure and at the age of eighteen purchased a 150 ton brig with square rigged sails, dramatically modified and improved the efficiency of the craft.  He set out to conquer the world leading an international crew of rogues and thieves soon to be called the Black Knights.

Airship 27 Managing Editor, Ron Fortier, explains the story behind this incredible book.  “Back in the 1980s, Michael Vance wrote a comic book mini-series entitled, THE ADVENTURES OF YOUNG NEMO, which was illustrated by our own Art Director Rob Davis.  When he suggested the possibility of adapting that series into a novel, all of us knew it was a great idea and he’s proven us right.”

Davis, along with colorist Shane Evans provides the cover and design of the book with interior illustrations by artist Chuck Bordell.

Jones, Taucher and Vance reveal THE EQUATION!

The Equation is a novel. The equation is not.

Written by Frank Taucher, Michael Vance, and R. A. Jones, the premise of this new suspense-thriller is simple but deadly: if you knew the secret of the equation and had the will, you could bring the United States to its knees!

Savy stock broker, Dianne Jassinsky, is certain that is exactly what someone is planning to do, but to save the nation she first has to convince someone, anyone that the danger is real and imminent.

Her only ally, the only one who will believe her, is discredited journalist Frank Palm, whose checkered past threatens to come back to haunt them both.

The clock is fast ticking down toward America's downfall -- and Dianne now finds herself in the murderous crosshairs of a faceless stalker!!

Taucher unleashes his expertise and imagination in this tense, gripping novel of economic and political intrigue. Majoring in Agricultural Economics and statistics, he became a very successful stock and commodity broker with several different brokerage firms. In his work, Taucher studied weather patterns, Fibonacci numbers, and different natural cycles that he was convinced guided the markets, and this research was the catalyst for writing his wildly successful, annual stock and commodity trading manual called The Supertrader's Almanac. Taucher's relentless desire for trying to figure out cycles and patterns in the commodity, bond and stock markets inspired The Equation.

Co-authors Michael Vance and R. A. Jones have written novels and short stories, for television and motion pictures, for national and international magazines, as syndicated newspaper columnists, and for comic books and strips. They are both listed in the Who's Who of American Comic Books and Comic Book Superstars.

The Equation is now available as an e-book as well as in paperback. It is available on Amazon at http://www.amazon.com/Equation-Frank-Taucher/dp/1490948767/

If you have any former project to do over to make it better, which one would it be, and what would you do?

I wrote two comic book mini-series of which only the first issues were published. I'd like to rewrite The Adventures of Captain Nemo and Bloodtide as novels.

What inspires you to write?

God.

What writers have influenced your style and technique?

William Faulkner, H. G. Wells, H.P. Lovecraft, and Ray Bradbury.

Where would you rank writing on the "Is it an art or it is a science continuum?" Why?

At its best, writing is confession.

Any other upcoming projects you would like to plug?

I am writing a Young Adult Christian SF novel called The Egg.

So Human, So Flawed, So Fragile, So Authentic -- A review of Show Me A Hero

Got an awesome review from author Michael Vance for my Show Me A Hero collection from New Babel Books!

=========================================================

I diligently tried to find any contact information on any of them – for example, The Fool, Glitter, Double Shot, Tobit’s Angel, or Fishnet Angel – and found nothing.

I would have loved to talk to some of them, face to face, but it was almost as if they didn’t live in this world, my world, the real world. But the world they live in is so authentic that it can’t be an alternate universe or a dream.

I wanted to find them.  They were each so compelling.

I just read about them and others in a real page-turning collection of short stories, news releases, and essays published by New Babel that was written by Sean Taylor. Show Me A Hero was the title of what has to be 514 pages of non-fiction. Yes, each had an exaggerated gift – one was little more than a collection of light ‘bubbles’—but they were so human, so flawed, so fragile in many ways despite their enhanced powers. They suffered heartbreak and celebrated joy. They gained lovers and lost to death. They cried. Laughed. All of that human stuff.

And they fought like heroes. Superheroes.

So, I’m left with only two conclusions. They live somewhere, on some level. And, if the principal purposes of any book are entertainment, enlightenment, or education, then Show Me A Hero is entertainment at its best.

It’s the real deal.
